living stones

"As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy preisthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For it stands in Scripture: 'Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.' So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, 'The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone." 1 Peter 2:4-7

As the children of God, we are called to be living stones. Stones that when all put together, form a spiritual house in which we offer sacrifices to God through Christ. But don't ignore the word "living". We are to be living - actively living for Christ in all things! Living stones...what a beautiful name for Christians! One Christian can't get much done all on his own...we must work together in order to build a house. But even that will not make a house all by itself. A house cannot stand without a cornerstone to keep it all together. And the Cornerstone of our spiritual house it Christ! Our Rock and Foundation of our faith, who keeps us standing together, strong in Him through all the winds and storms life brings.

May we all be LIVING stones for Christ!!
